Winston Carney :: Owner

Owner of Winston Pilates, fitness specialist, Winston Carney launched her career over a decade ago when she began studying and teaching Pilates under the expert tutelage of master teachers, Lisa Silveira and Elizabeth Fowler. Rachel Jolley :: Instructor

My love affair with movement started with my first Ballet class at 5 years old. I spent my childhood in the world of dance and Theater. With all of the joy it brought me, also came injuries, which left my body off balance and vulnerable. By the time I was in my 20's I was limping about most of the time because of my "bad knee". Having been dislocated several times, many doctors told me I would need surgery on my left knee, sooner then later. Luckily, one specialist mentioned that many of his clients were professional Ballet dancers, and had rehabbed seemingly surgery-bound issues with Pilates. I decided to check it out. I became completely fascinated with the science behind the movement. I rehabbed my knee using Pilates techniques, and went on to explore other modalities of movement therapies, from Yoga to Reiki. In all of these studies I have developed an extensive and unique understanding of anatomy, and breath. I bring these things to you wrapped in a fun, humor filled, challenging work out.
